It’s Your Turn!
The end of the season has come. I only have 1 more wedding scheduled for this year, and then it’s time to prep for the next wedding season. Every year I go through a mixture of emotions at this time. Wedding season typically runs from March or April through October or November. (Yes, there may be a few scattered here and there throughout the winter months, but not as many.) This year, my season started in April and will end in November.
While I look forward to my last wedding next month, and I look forward to a break in the year and some holiday time with my family, I am sad that this year is over. I love my brides, and I always remember them. After working side by side with them for so long, you really get to know them - their personalities, their styles, what makes them laugh, and what frustrates them (usually their own families are at the top of each list!). I love how close we get, and I love that feeling of knowing how important and special their wedding day really is.
The off-season is when I stop, and I get to look forward to next year. That is where the true excitement comes in. I love looking at the styles, the ideas, the trends! I love hearing from new brides with new concerns. Each bride is worried about something unique, and that excites me. I love guiding her through this process. This is new to her. She has never done this before, and she wants help knowing she is on the right track. I love being able to guide her through, and just see her vision come to life.
If you are a bride getting married in 2022 (or even 2023), this is your time to shine. This is exciting! The weddings from 2021 are done. Those trends are past. Now it’s time to make your own trends and do something that nobody has ever seen before.
If you’ve read my blogs before, you know that I had my wedding reception at an aquarium. It was different from anything that any of my friends or family had done before. It was new, unique, and fun! I wanted something people hadn’t experienced. I wanted something memorable. I have been married for 14 years, and I still have people who come up to me telling me how wonderful my wedding was. They remember it!
This is your time, brides. This is your year. Read the blogs, follow the IGs and TikToks, go old school and pick up the magazines - be a bride! It’s your turn now. Enjoy every minute. I am here to help you along the way and make your vision come to life!
